Wale Elegbede is Director of Strategy Management Services at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, where he oversees the Innovate delivery team, develops and executes strategy, project management, program management and business analysis. A seasoned project portfolio and administrative leader with over 20 years of experience in planning, development and executing strategic and operating plans, Elegbede is consistently recognized for leadership capabilities and has a successful track record in healthcare, project portfolio management, business administration, information technology, retail, supply chain and manufacturing. His experience includes overseeing major project initiatives for the largest home furniture manufacturer in the world and for Mayo Clinic, the number-one ranked hospital in the nation.
A strategist who believes good, ethical leaders have a responsibility to bring positive change to their communities, organizations and families, Wale Elegbede is also a TED Speaker and a Rada Distinguished Alumni of the University of Wisconsin La Crosse, an award given to select individuals who have achieved distinction in a chosen field, made outstanding contributions to their profession, and demonstrated exceptional personal qualities through participation in activities that provide long-lasting benefits to communities and society. He also serves as President of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Rochester, Minnesota Branch. An expert in project management, Elegbede serves as President of the La Crosse-Rochester Project Management Institute (PMI) chapter , project management instructor for Mayo Clinic’s School of Continuous Professional Development and is instructor of graduate project management at Viterbo University.
Wale holds a B.S. in Information Systems, M.B.A. with Ethical/Servant Leadership Emphasis, Certified Project Management Professional (PMP©), Certified Prosci Change Management Practitioner, Certified Scrum Master, DevOps Agile Service Manager (CASM), and ITIL.
